This train tour covers the top attractions in the central Black Forest. This is also known as the cuckoo clock area. If you want to see and do it all in a day and don’t care about feeling rushed – this is the tour for you! I make this tour available in 2 versions; one version for those who want to take it easy while making the most of their day, and then another version where we do it all – no limitations – just do everything possible in a day.
The See-It-All Tour combines the top attractions in the central Black Forest in one tour. But be aware – because there is just too much to see in a day, you might have to go – go – go! Because the tour is packed with attractions, it has been one of my most popular tours.
Some of the tour highlights are classic Black Forest towns where you walk down ancient cobblestone streets and even mingle with locals if you like. We’ll visit a local woodcarver’s shop. This tour takes you to the famous Open-Air Farmhouse Museum and to the cuckoo clock area. There are waterfalls to see, and a mountain coaster ride – its a great tour if you have children come along.
This tour has some fun short-cuts too, like taking hikes through the woods as alternatives to sitting on the train or bus. You’ll really get to walk in the Black Forest if you want. There is a little-known and beautiful hike along the historic Black Forest Railway line. And there is even a mountain lake where you can enjoy lunch! This is not a cookie cutter tour. The area is so big we have to tell you what to skip. You get to pick and choose amongst many sights and attractions.
Since it is not easy to get to all these attractions on public transportation, the tour is available in 2 versions. The Advanced Version instructs how to do it all, but in a format for the experienced traveler. If you consider yourself an experienced traveler you can’t go wrong with this version of the tour. The Easy Version is the same route, but we skip the Farmhouse Museum and the mountain coaster. The difference is fewer stops, less hectic, and you still get to see the Black Forest cuckoo clock area and much more. We make touring by train EASY!
