The Not So Touristy Tour takes you into a beautiful valley in the Central Black Forest where your train ride follows the flow of the river. You will experience the landscape that gave the Black Forest its name. We pass through countless pretty towns along the river that wind through never-ending valleys with picture perfect vistas. This is a very relaxed tour with plenty of places to take a break, go for a walk, or just mingle with the locals. If you are interested in touristy stuff, this tour is not for you!

Tour Description.

This is the area I am from and therefore this is my non-touristy tour. The tour starts and ends in the town of Offenburg. Alternatively you can end the tour in Stuttgart. The duration of the tour is really up to you – the more you want to see the longer it takes! I usually recommend to end the tour by 6 PM (or 7 PM if you are ending in Stuttgart)

This tour is easily described as just being beautiful and representative of the Black Forest. You start off with a visit to a medieval town – a hidden gem of the Black Forest – with everything from watchtowers, original gated entrance towers, cobblestone streets, an old monastery, and a farmer’s market.

You will then get deeper into the valley. One pretty town follows the next. This tour provides you with all the options to stop at great restaurants and to sample the little-known local culture.

Looking to do some day hiking in the Black Forest?  The tour includes easy walks. But also an easy 4 km hike (more described as a walk) taking you by an old castle ruin.

Contact me prior to purchasing this tour if you have any questions whatsoever (for example, does it overlap with other tours you are interested in?). I’ll respond ASAP! Im here to help you choose the perfect tour. Maybe I can make a recommendation for you. Either way, I can save you time and help you choose the right tour for you.
